“I had a unique Christmas gift idea and needed a company that could help me make it happen,”

PlaqueMaker customer Susie Hardt tells us.

Susie and her husband are building a new home. One of the materials they’re using on the exterior and main staircase is called Old Chicago Brick. “The story behind the brick is very interesting,” Susie says, “particularly since my husband is from Chicago.” The couple wants to share the history behind the brick with friends, family and future visitors to their new home, so they decide to create a custom plaque to mount on the staircase.

“It was super close to Christmas, but PlaqueMaker had a wonderful rush shipment promotion that allowed me to get it done.”

During the online design process, Susie Live Chats with customer service. “That really helped as I didn’t understand all the terminology regarding the mounting options for my plaque. That part of my design was important, as I’ll be mounting it on a brick stairwell.”

With help from our customer service specialists, Susie uses Live Designer herself to create a plaque with a stainless steel plate on a cherry wood board. The plaque has holes for mounting with standoffs. “The design process is straightforward, with plenty of options,” she says. “The proofing process is very efficient; the quick turnaround allowed for my project to be delivered in time for Christmas.”

Susie’s husband is completely surprised and delighted with the plaque. “I think he presumed I’d just forgotten about making it, so it was great to see his expression when he opened the gift. The quality of the product is perfect and it makes us both happy because it is very personal and unique to us.”
