Customer: Why do you feature so many products made from bamboo?

The bamboo plant is actually several varieties of fast-growing grass that rises in height from three inches to several feet in just one day. It flourishes all over the world in nearly every climate. Because it grows so efficiently, it is considered a highly sustainable plant.

Cultivated bamboo canes or culms have incredible strength and versatility. Construction workers often use bamboo to lay floors. In some parts of the world, it can be used to build entire houses. Ancient artisans used bamboo to create weapons and paper. Ideal for indoor use, bamboo can be used outdoors with care. It will weather naturally over the years. Warping or fading can occur without regular maintenance, however. Avoid placing signs in direct sun or in moist environments. To keep bamboo clean and protected, apply a water-based polyurethane clear satin exterior finish over the entire product – including the engraving or printing- at least twice a year.
