Thinking of recognizing a local company for their community service?

Here’s a lovely idea on how to do it! Tammy Holloway is the Program Director for Snack in a Backpack of Blue Ridge, Georgia, a nonprofit organization that provides nutritious food to local children in need. Funded entirely by private donors and local businesses, the program is dedicated to reducing childhood hunger in Fannin County, serving more than 400 students in seven county schools.

Tammy and her volunteer team are not only spearheading Project December –a campaign that gives the kids a memorable Christmas with new backpacks full of more healthy food for the school’s holiday break- they honor local businesses that donate food and give money to their cause by granting them membership to the organization’s 365 Elite Club.

Tammy recently honored Mercier Orchards as a member of the 365 Elite Club, in gratitude for their weekly donation of 800 apples throughout the school year for the kids in the program. Volunteers each pitch in one dollar to buy the plaque, which is designed by PlaqueMaker based on Tammy’s input with wording and artwork.

“The plaque I wanted looked really nice,” Tammy tells us. “The designers did the whole design and they also did a great job on the final proof. I absolutely loved it!”
