PlaqueMaker helps a senior Girl Scout earn her Gold Award, helping shelter dogs and volunteers in the process.
Erin Mellarkey is currently a senior in her twelfth and final year of Girl Scouts. She wanted to earn her Gold Award, the highest honor for any Girl Scout.
“Over the summer, I developed a project idea with the volunteers at Luna’s House,” Erin tells us. “Luna’s House is a non-profit organization dedicated to bettering the lives of animals and their people. Their goal is to promote widespread humane education and respect for animals.” Erin’s love for animals coupled with her passion for the Girl Scouts makes this project a great fit. With safety for both volunteers and the dogs as her focus, Erin sets out to construct an access bridge over an eroded area in the organization’s backyard dog run. “With the help of my family, as well as donations from friends, I built a small bridge to make walking the dogs a safer task.”
Personalize Custom Engraved Outdoor Plaques at PlaqueMaker
Our custom outdoor plaques use laser-fuse engraving, frosted engraving or UV-resistant materials to create plaques in any shape or size. Use plaques to mark buildings, memorials, gardens, trees, artwork and projects that earn a Girl Scout her Gold Award.
“Having a personalized plaque mounted on the bridge makes it even more special to me, knowing that I was able to leave my mark on such a great organization,” Erin says. “I’m thankful that PlaqueMaker was part of that.”
We’re so happy to help, Erin – Congratulations on a job well done!
